| 08/12/08 | Jasmin Ould set a new record at the London Grand Prix when she became the first person to win the Player of the Tournament twice. A fantastic achievement as her two awards were at successive tournaments. Very well done Jas! Jas was runner up in the Women's Band 3 Singles and lost in the semi final of the Women's Band 2 Singles. In both events she lost to Klaudia Szadkowska from Poland and Jas was the only player to take a game from her. Her best performance came in the Women's Open Singles open where she qualied for the main event, and eventually losing to Sarah Wang after defeating Melissa Wright (the England Junior no.4, senior no.41) a defender 11-1 in the forth. | 07/11/08 | Neil Le Milliere thought some of you may be interested in this. You had to see it to believe it! Darius and Drinkwall on the Paul O'Grady show as Joan Collins hosts it. According to Joan Table Tennis is her favourite game [outside the bedroom] at home and so she set Paris Hilton and Paul a challenge to play with the English champions. From the ETTA website: "7th November By James Cornford What do a former drag artist, an American socialite and the top two English table tennis players have in common? Well they are all on Channel 4 this afternoon as Paul O'Grady hosts Paris Hilton, Paul Drinkhall and Darius Knight at 5pm. | 13/10/08 | Lewis Gray has been selected to represent England in the prestigious Stockton on Tees 4 Star Junior Open Championships on 15th and 16th November. Details from Ken Muhr |
| 13/10/08 | Jasmin Ould from the Byng Hall club in Tunbridge Wells was the star of the show on day one of the Newcastle Open, the second main Butterfly Grand Prix event of the series, held in the eighteen table venue of the Eldon Square Leisure Centre, over the weekend of 11th-12th October. Jasmin played extremely well in only her fourth Grand Prix of her short career to take the Women’s Band Three title and runner-up in the Women’s Band Two. | 07/09/08 | Fusion TTC have movied to new state of the art premises at HAKA School in Grove Park this is due to the club’s current premises becoming too small for the amount of people that wish to play and practice at the club. They are now open on Monday/Tuesday/Thursday evenings from 7pm to 10pm and on Saturdays from 1pm to 6pm, the Club has also purchased 11 new tables so now have a total of 16 tables. The club will be able to offer a 16 table venue on Monday evenings and on Saturdays, and on Tuesdays and Thursday they will have either 8/10 tables available. Details of the new venue |
